Andrea and Jay’s big day finally came! While I have many a wedding this summer, I was looking forward to this one because Chancey’s in Huntley is a new venue for me. It did not disappoint! High ceilings with sweeping white fabric, chandeliers, and perfect light. Plus, it has a wedding garden, and if you’ve seen a photo of my wedding, you know how I feel about gardens, and flowers, and just plants in general. Beyond the garden it has rolling hills that let me capture that wild big sky feeling that I love so much. Not to mention, Andrea’s sister was married at this same venue last year, so I feel like it’s kind of their spot now. 😉
It was a beautiful day. I think everyone was feeling a little stress when they woke up to the sound of rain, but it cleared off by late morning and left us with a 65 degree day with puffy clouds to defuse the bright sun. This photographer couldn’t have been happier.
Andrea and Jay drew an impressive crowd of family and friends. After an emotional ceremony, Rocky Erickson, could be heard introducing the bridal party to a room full of laughter. Nearly 300 guests toasted the new couple, enjoyed cake, and danced until long after I said goodbye for the night.
Shout out to Chelise Clarin Boysun for her beautiful photos as second photographer and Sherry and Janessa Haynie for the hours of work they put in to transform Chancey’s with decor!
